Sally Clarke, 17 June 2024 … ‘June 17th marks the half way point to the 40th anniversary date and we are revving up in lots of different directions.

The book is going to print in the beautiful Welsh hills mid July and I am keeping my fingers firmly crossed that that will be no silly spelling mistakes … such as ‘seas’ salt and 1050ml instead of 150ml, as there were in the first edition of the last book!

It has been the greatest joy to put together and I hope that same joy will be evident to you within the pages.

40 ~ The Competition

Are you also celebrating the 40th of something this year? Your wedding anniversary, maybe, or perhaps you proposed 40 years ago at Clarke’s, or had your last meal with us before going into labour with your first born? What about your first hit single (Pet Shop Boys take note!)? Your first film (Eric Fellner take note!). The Thames Barrier – perhaps you were one of the designers or engineers? Whatever it may be, we are running a little competition and would love to hear your thoughts and the possible links you have with ’40’ and Clarke’s.

The winning 4 ideas will be offered a table of up to 4 guests, a glass each of something special on arrival and 40% off their meal.
