First Newsletter of 2021
January 2, 2021
Hello, how are you and welcome to the first newsletter
of what is going to be the most fabulous year…
(At least that is certainly what we are planning)
We very much hope that you enjoyed a lovely Christmas and New Year’s Eve -admittedly perhaps somewhat muted compared to last year and, we hope, to next year’s. If you were able to visit our Shop or our online offerings, thank you so very much for your support. We hope that you enjoyed every morsel.
Thank you also to those who were able to visit the Restaurant on or before 15th December (when we served our 2nd ‘Last Supper’). We will return of course, as soon as the Government guidelines allow, when we will be opening up the reservation pages both online and by phone. Please therefore keep in touch over the next few weeks for the latest news.
Meanwhile, may we gently remind you that our Restaurant Kitchen does not sleep (much!).Our team of chefs are preparing, cooking and packing a wonderfully varied menu which when ordered by you will be whisked swiftly and efficiently to your door, (from January 6th onwards), sadly not by Ginger Rogers and Fred Astaire, but by lovely Ecofleet bicycles.
All you have to do is click the button above, choose your selection of dishes from the menu, go to ‘basket’ and then within a little over 24 hours you will have dinner arriving at your doorstep! Then, all you have to do is to follow the simple reheating and serving instructions, sit back and relax and enjoy your Clarke’s meal in the comfort of your own home. (Pyjamas or full evening dress optional!)
Looking ahead we have fabulous Galette des Rois in both shops this week, plus a few Valentine treats up our sleeves and then, (Brexit-willing) we are expecting some delicious Seville Oranges (from Seville), blood oranges (from the Amalfi coast), Belgian endive (from Belgium),chestnuts (from France) and perhaps some pomegranate (from Greece)…. If all else fails, at least we will soon be making good use of Yorkshire spring rhubarb(arriving all the way from Yorkshire!), – plus the best home-grown apples and pears, walnuts, cauliflower, cabbages and parsnips. We will not let you down! So whether you are enjoying a few days of rest, or hard at work keeping the country afloat, we wish you a very happy 2021. May it be filled with good health, smiles and laughter -and may some of it be around one of our tables (or shop counters) soon.
With our enormous gratitude to you all, Sally and all at Clarke’s Restaurant, Shops, Bakery and Production Kitchen
